John told us about their life ,culture and the changes that happen with the changing times .

They are a nomadic tribe, though now the government encourages them to settle down and take up farming .

Their society is patriarchal in nature . The Chief takes decisions in consultation with the elders .

They have a religion, with a deity . They call their deity Engai .
Many tribes these days have been converted to Christianity.

They have a lot of rituals and celebrations in their life – at birth , at puberty , at weddings and at death .
Music and dance is a part of their life .

Killing lions was once important event in the life of each young Masai, but, now , is rare .It is banned by the governments .
