The Mania and the Magic of the Great Wildebeest Migration !

Thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather on the bank of Mara river in Masai Mara, Kenya , during the Great Wildebeest migration .
They have to cross the river to reach the vast areas of grasslands on the other side of the river. But there are numerous giant, hungry Nile crocodiles in the river.
The wildebeest may wait on the bank for several hours eating grass and interacting with others  .
Then , suddenly , one of them will take the plunge , followed by others.Initially , they jump one by one . Later ,a mass frenzy begins .
Then , there is total chaos .
They push, fight and jump over each other to cross the river without getting into trouble with crocs .

The uncertainty, the numbers , the chaos ,the fury, the frenzy, the drama  … all make the whole event an unforgettable experience !

    1. 🙂 ! Zebras are , certainly , fewer . So they always move with the wildebeests – which are far more in numbers.
The strength of these herbivores, against the predators , is in their numbers .

      Thank you , Graham ! 🙂 !
