Raqs Be Ledi ( Arb. = Folk Dance )

The folk dance of the Middle East .

An expressive dance with emphasis on movements of the torso.

Tourists call it ‘ Belly Dance ‘.

Costumes , music and dance style vary in different regions.

Enchanting music. Fascinating movements .

Performed by well trained and talented artists in a magical environment .

  1. Good photo! Forgive my tourist term here, but I think when you see belly dancing done well it can be rather erotic to watch also. That’s the main reason to enjoy Shakira videos anyway! πŸ˜„

    • Thank you , Graham ! πŸ™‚ !
I saw it in Dubai with my family and at least 60 other tourists – , gentlemen , ladies and kids of all ages , for various countries – at the end of an exciting desert safari. It was a professional performance in an open air camp in the middle of the desert . A real treat for the eyes and ears.

But , then , abuse of art forms can occur anywhere , in many many ways , can’t it ? πŸ™‚ !

      Thanks again !

      • Very true, I suppose any art form is open to interpretation and abuse eh? Why we can’t just be allowed to enjoy it as was originally intended, who knows!?! πŸ™‚

    • I do agree . It is certainly difficult ! πŸ™‚ !

It took numerous attempts . One of the most difficult photo – for which I had to struggle a lot , to get it right !

Try again . Don’t give up . You will succeed .
      All the best !

      • I thought you were saying it took multiple attempts to perform the dance. I was impressed. I never progressed past the warm up. πŸ˜„ Maybe I should try again?

      • Sorry , for the delay in response.

Failures help . I failed several time get a satisfactory shot.
        Try again and again .
You will get a much better shot than this .
